Starting in 2011, the ADLINK Education Foundation has been organizing the cross-strait children's summer camp at ADLINK’s Shanghai subsidiary every year. Even during the pandemic, ADLINK continued to run the camp in Taiwan. We believe that learning and growth should not stop because of the pandemic. 2022 was the 12th year of the summer camp. The original intention is to help young volunteers and students cultivate team spirit, positive thinking and problem-solving. Through different teaching plans, we allow children to have the opportunity to come in contact with diverse fields, such as technology education, arts and aesthetics, environmental protection, and local culture, so as to expand their horizons, stimulate creativity, explore their strengths, and acquire the ADLINK spirit.
Beijing Opera is not simply an iconic genre of opera in traditional Chinese performance arts. In 2010, Beijing Opera was inscribed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO, which ascertains its status and value as a treasure of humankind. The ADLINK Beijing Opera Summer Camp, sponsored by AEF, was organized by NTCPA for participants to experience the highest aim of Beijing Opera performers – “All sounds are music, all movements are dance.” The camp offered various curriculum materials aimed at preparing participants for a basic understanding of Beijing Opera by combining a theoretical background with a practical, fun approach to learning.
Origin:
ADLINK Cross-Strait Summer Camp for Kids and Volunteer Pre-Camp Training are annual events at AEF. The primary purpose of this event is to provide a caring environment in which the ADLINK family can be brought together, and arts and cultural development can take place. Employees of ADLINK Technology, children of the employees, ADLINK volunteers, and participants from our former camps are invited to join the event.
Overview:
The students of the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts came to Germany for a tour, thanks to the invitation from the Agenda21 Foundation in Diepholz and the generous support of the ADLINK Education Foundation in Taiwan, which has funded the 30 flight tickets for all teachers and students.
The members of Knoten der Kultur (文化結) have known the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts and its students since 2016 through ADLINK Education Foundation. Over these years, we have witnessed the transformation of these students from inexperienced to confident individuals.
After three years of the pandemic, the students finally have the opportunity to showcase their hard-earned skills in Germany once again. Knoten der Kultur (文化結) is honored to assist with this tour in Germany and invites everyone to join in this magnificent event.
The performance will showcase traditional East Asian arts, such as dramatic martial arts scenes from Peking Opera, breathtaking acrobatics, graceful flag dances, and much more.

The Taiwan-Germany Cultural Feast took place from August 25th to the 27th. This was a cultural exchange program organized by AEF. Students and graduates from National Taiwan College of Performing Arts (NTCPA) performed and hosted interactive workshops at three high schools in Germany: Gesamtschule An der Erft, Liebfrauenschule Mülhausen, and Lise-Meitner-Gymnasium. Their performance enhanced the international visibility of Taiwanese culture and the understanding of traditional Chinese operas among German students, which amounted to a successful effort in promoting people-to-people diplomacy.
Their performance received great attention from government officials as well as the overseas Chinese community in Germany. Mr. Görtz, Vice mayor of Willich; Mr. Lambertz, City Councilor of Willich; and Professor Wagner, the Dean of College of Science and Engineering of University of Wuppertal, attended in support of the event. Qiang Fu, Director of the Great China Section of NRW.INVEST GMBH; Qi Hong, Director of Taiwan Trade Center in Duesseldorf; Yu-Chih Chang, Secretary of Office of Overseas Community Affairs Council in Frankfurt, Germany; and Li-Li Chen, Commissioner of Overseas Community Affairs Council enjoyed the last-day performance with approximately 300 other audience members on August 27. The show was enthusiastically welcomed.
This all started with our Annual ADLINK Cross-Strait Summer Camp for Kids in Pudong, Shanghai. For six years, AEF has invited students from disadvantaged backgrounds from Taiwan and Shanghai to take part in the camp and to enhance cross-strait cultural awareness. The students have grown up, but the support from AEF has not stopped. Two of the students are studying in NTCPA. It is the hope of AEF that they can apply their opera and stunt expertise to the enhancement of international arts and cultural exchange, broadening their horizons.
The cultural feast started with a spectacular flag show presented by students from NTCPA. Traditional Beijing Opera and folk performance arts, such as contortionism, brick breaking, and plate spinning, could also be seen during the performance. An instrumental ensemble consisting of two recipients of Huang Yueh-O Art Scholarship Awards and their German companions performed traditional Chinese music with recorder, zhongruan, and guzheng, making this event a wonderful art feast.
