Organized by Dharma Drum Mountain Humanities and Social Improvement Foundation and co-organized by the Apple Foundation,the 2010 Caring for Life Award revealed the winners list on August 10th with the assistance of the judges, including Master Guo Dong,Chao-Shiuan Liu, President of the National Cultural Association, Zhi-Ling Yang, Minister of the Department of Health, and Foo Chien,former President of the Control Yuan et al.
The Group Award went to the Disabled Performing Arts Group of ADLINK Education Foundation and the Individual Awards went to Chao-Bin Hsu, the attending physician of Chi Mei Medical Center and Li-Ying Chen, the founder of Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders. The newly established “Special Awards for 88 Flood Rescue and Rebuilding” were presented to Guo-Chen Ding, General Director of Chen Chi Enterprises and The Red Cross Society of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Dharma Drum Mountain is going to host the award ceremony on September 10th which is also World Suicide Prevention Day. The ceremony will take place at the International Conference Hall located on the 9th floor of the National Taiwan Science Education Center. The Caring for Life Award is awarded every other year. This is the third year of organizing the event. Master Guo Dong stated that he hopes this will encourage the diversity and vitality within our society.
