As an erhu artist, she led six German students all by herself in the workshop this time and brought a performance to the stage together with them. Here is her reflection:
Before leaving, I was quite nervous, because the challenge was bigger than usual – we were not only artists, but also teachers. From my past experience, it seemed impossible to teach students an instrument in just three to five days and then perform with them.
My special thanks go to Mia, a German student from the first week, with whom I played the piece. Since she speaks our local language, she helped me a lot with the communication. I also thank all the other students for their understanding and cooperation.
It was my second time staying with a host family. My “German dad” from the first household already knew me from last year. I was worried I wouldn’t manage without a translation app, but he even praised me, saying that my English had improved a lot – such a great feeling! The second host family also took warm care of me and helped me with many things like luggage and tax reimbursement.

Als Erhu-Spielerin leitete sie diesmal ganz allein sechs deutsche Schüler*innen im Workshop an und brachte mit ihnen gemeinsam eine Aufführung auf die Bühne. Hier ist ihr Erfahrungsbericht:
Vor der Abreise war ich ziemlich nervös, denn die Herausforderung war diesmal größer als sonst – wir waren nicht nur Künstlerinnen, sondern auch Lehrende. Aus meiner bisherigen Erfahrung schien es unmöglich, Schülerinnen in nur drei bis fünf Tagen ein Instrument beizubringen und mit ihnen aufzutreten.
Mein besonderer Dank gilt Mia, einer deutschen Schülerin aus der ersten Woche, mit der ich das Stück „Sai Ma“ gespielt habe. Da sie Chinesisch spricht, hat sie mir bei der Vermittlung sehr geholfen. Auch allen anderen Schülerinnen danke ich für ihr Verständnis und ihre Zusammenarbeit.
Es war mein zweites Mal bei einer Gastfamilie. Mein „deutscher Papa“ aus dem ersten Haushalt kannte mich schon vom letzten Jahr. Ich hatte Sorge, dass ich ohne Übersetzungs-App nicht zurechtkäme, aber er lobte sogar, dass mein Englisch sich stark verbessert habe – ein tolles Gefühl! Die zweite Gastfamilie kümmerte sich ebenfalls herzlich um mich und half mir bei vielen Dingen wie Gepäck und Steuererstattung.
Vielen Dank an Ling Hua und den Cultural Knot, dass ich zum zweiten Mal nach Deutschland kommen durfte. Und Glückwunsch an uns alle – wir haben gemeinsam eine „unmögliche“ Aufgabe geschafft!
